one month contents ins?

wondering if anyone can give me some advice, I currently rent a flat which I have given notice on to give up on the 16th Jan, my contents insurance is due for renewal this week, I have spoken to my current insurers who say they cannot give me cover for one month just to renew policy (£17 to be taken as first instalment) then cancel in jan at cost of £50. I plan to move all my belongings into my bfs flat over next couple of weeks.

Anybody know of any insurers that would cover for a month, or who have lower cancellation fees? If i understand this correctly i'll be paying £67 for a month cover and on getting quotes elsewhere I could get a whole year for £20 more than that!!

many thanks for any help you can give me :money:

Does your b/f have contents cover, if not you could transfer it to his house.

Could you ask if they could suspend it till (if he has it) your b/fs insurance runs out.
I know you can do this with AA/RAC but its worth a try.

Speak to Endsleigh as they usually do student insurance and may be able to help you........
  • Difficult, I dont know of anyonw who would do a months cover (although there might be someone out there)

You might just have to bite the bullet and either do without cover or pay the extra
