Ah, ok. Didn't realise it was a joint challenge. My debt is joint too; in fact DH has about £2.5k on another CC but I haven't counted that!
Ahh whats 2500k between freinds easy to forget:D
Hubbys not member on this board but found me doing this challange joint last 2years has motivated him and allowed him to see what hes paid off so far as sometimes he gets despondant and feels theres no way out.
Thanks jwil we have had some fortunate financial breaks this year wasent expecting inheritance money but its really helped us out.
Talking of good luck had letter from inland revenue confirming 1000pounds on its way:j
hubbys claiming for 3years back travel they only processed 1year, still dealing with other year and hubby needs to do tax return by april to claim for 3rd year been quite a long winded process think they make it as complex as possible.
I have 3grand left in savings.
given hubby 500 to pay off cc this month.
got 500spare next month as no extra outgoings including council tax and water.
will have 1000 from tax man.
But the biggie is we need new family car people carrier.
reason why we in so much is repairs on car of doom which im convinced its jinxed, its slowly falling apart, not econonmical on tax/petrol and not big enough.
Sadly its value depreciated to approx 800-900 pounds:eek:
we buy any car says 670:rotfl:
so currently have 3800 budegt towards new car but stuiggling to find something thats good condition not high milage and economical to run within that price bracket ideally need 4grand-4500.
If we get it right than we will save money as current car needs hundreds of pounds work done on it to pass mot every year.
We like vw which is cheaper on tax as more carbon efficent and diesil work out cheaper than petrol so although we pay out more means saves us in long run well thats the plan as feel sick whenever mot time and breaking down constamtly with 2kids and baby on way not much fun.
Also we have few other costs bedroom furniture falling apart desperate must.
baby has some medical bills not covered by our private health insurance.
Was all set on booking cheap uk holiday this year as really lifted our spirits after year of frugally living to get away from it all.
Guess everyone has same dillema of paying of debts but living and be being happy at same time.
Its about striking a balance.pad by xmas2010 £14,636.65/£20,000::beer:
