Made another payment of £625 today. I am not sure how I am going to cope this month due to mot due soon, but I have still made this payment in great faith that I will manage somehow.

This is the only thing keeping me going right now and I don't want to give up just yet. If I can pay the same amount next month I will have just past the halfway mark.

well done, newlife, we all keep plugging away...:)
  • Hi everyone,

this is my first post in this forum and am very new to MSE but was tempted on here by my lovely friend who has been making amazing progress with her debts.

We (my hubby and I) decided at the start of this year that we would like to be debt free by the end of the year so have been trying hard to achieve that.

Anyway on march 14th we had a lovely little boy, so i am now on maternity leave for which i am getting paid SMP only almost £500 a month less than my normal wages (I work for a charity and so have no maternity package). This has made things a lot tighter in the finance department and so we have really had to step it up a gear.

We also would like it if I could stay home and look after our bundle of joy rather than returning to work which means not only paying off the debts but learning to live on a budget ANOTHER £500 less every month from October. Quite a challange i am sure you will agree.

I am sure that we can do this and I am already learning so much from this site, so I thought I would join this challenge.

Our total debts at the start of the year were....

    £4385.62

    and our current balance is.....

    £2835.77 :j

In theory we would like to clear this by October and maybe end the year with some money in savings. So wish us luck!!

    xx

i wonder how many of us will actually finish the challenge/year.

cant wait for payday to come round again (another ten days) and pay another chunk off. in going to start with £150. but am hoping for considerably more over the month.

    it still exciting xx

  • Evening all, no 130 checking in.

Well, it's been about 5 weeks since my last confession ;) ... in all seriousness though, i moved house 4 weeks ago, i knew i was moving soon but had no date so in the end it all happened so suddenly and i had to abandon mse in aid of packing.

When i got to the new house i nearly cried; i didnt get signal on my dongal which meant no mse !!

My internet went live today and this is the second online place ive visited (the first being the bank!).

I have still been chipping away at the debts so my totals are:

    £897.13/£4500

Anyways, hope your all well!! I'm now going to spend the evening reading through everything i've missed!

    xx
