Exit Fees on Tariff Change

Hello - I wonder if someone can let me know if exit fees are still applicable when you take up the right to move to a new supplier following a price increase? I understand that the old tariff applies until the switch-over is completed within the prescribed time-scale but can't seem to get a definitive answer about termination / exit fees.

Tariffs seem to be overly confusing and the way in which npower has increased its standing charge by 125% on some tariffs (SOL 17 electricity for example) is appalling and does nothing to encourage efficient and economical usage!

Thanks

They may well be payable - refer to the terms and conditions you agreed to.

Thanks for that. The supplementary T&Cs for SOL 17 are silent on the issue but the main terms and conditions which are stated to be subservient do address tariff changes but not exit fees. It looks from the experience of others though that they may not be charged because essentially (I would argue) they are unfair terms and outside the spirit of the regulators intent. We shall see.
