Best place to sell couple hundred used DVDs?

Hiya,
I've got a collection of a couple hundred DVDs that I pretty much never watch. Now we've got kids, I'd quite like the storage space back to hide all their toys away!
Any suggestions on the best place to sell them?
Is a car-boot my best option, or eBay, or are there any trade-in companies that offer better value?
Any idea how much they each go for these days? They're all mint condition, many of them never watched!
Cheers
Pete

i recently sold loads of my old games and dvds on music magpie...you can either enter the barcode number manually or scan it using your webcam and it gives you a price straight away. they send you a pre paid label...you just have to find a box to post them in.
it can take a fair few days as they go through quality checking, but i got more than i would have done if i'd have listed on ebay...they probably wouldn't have sold! The more one gets to know of men, the more one values dogs.0 -
Thanks, could you give me an idea of how much you get for each DVD there? There's no way of telling from the site unless you happen to have a DVD barcode to hand!0

it really depends on the dvd itself. i got £6 for some and then less than £1 for others. The more one gets to know of men, the more one values dogs.0

I find they give between 30p and £3 for DVDs (more for games) and you get a bit extra if you use a cash back site.
A general rule is if your DVDs are main stream films everyone brought on DVD at the time you are looking at 30p as everyone is now also selling them.0 -
exactly, i found it was worth selling them through this site, as if i bothered to list them on ebay nobody is really interested in them so i would rather get something as opposed to nothingThe more one gets to know of men, the more one values dogs.0

Well your options are Car boot but go see how much similar items are selling for before selling yours then you can see if you should charge 50p or £2 per item. This would be the most immediate way of selling them. If you sell them on Ebay then your best bet is probably to sell in lots of 10 to 20, in the wholesale and job lots section. This way I don't think you're restricted on postal charges and you can aim them at people who think THEY can sell them at car boots, again start price should reflect the 50p to £2 price but don't price them so high that people buying to resell don't think they can make a profit.
The other options will take longer to sell but you can list them on Play or Amazon providing the title is in the catalogue, then just see what prices other sellers are selling at but make sure you take into account the fixed postage prices charged by these sites, especially if you're selling doubles or boxed sets, you are also unlikely to be able to match the Amazon penny sellers on price. You should also take into account Amazon's popularity rating, this figure will give you some indication of how fast the disk is likely to sell. The lower the number the better.0 -
I personally wouldn't go through Music Magpie, considering they re-sell your items on Amazon and Play Trade anyway, you might as well just do it yourself and make more of the profit.0

I recently delisted virtually all of my CDs and DVDs from Amazon and sold them to Music magpie for pennies. They had been listed for at least two years in some cases and every time i checked they were decreasing in price and I preferred cash in hand rather than hanging onto depreciating stock.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. List them all on https://www.fo.lk - offer a set price for each DVD, combine postage for multiple purchases and do some wheeling & dealing.
Read the rules first though.0
