  • how do i add clients to abai please? :wall:

You can phone them apparently and ask them to add more clients, or you can do what I did, although it was quite tedious, go back to the first page, post 2 I think, there's a link, click it and sign up to each of the links individually, takes a while and they wont show up til tomorrow.

Like I said, strange forces at work ;)
  • Just noticed some jobs which have hung around on ESA for the last week have had £1 added to the fee. I remember another company used to do this. Is this the start of a new policy from ESA - start slow and gradually increase if people won't do them?

Also, did anyone else get the email from ESA telling you about their lovely jobs which says "And on some you get to keep your purchase". Sadly, I asked my mortgage company and they won't take eggs in lieu of payment :rotfl:

Read up the page for a better take on the ESA email...

I think this has been an excellent debate on the subject of fees. At the end of the day, your own circumstances will dictate what jobs you will take. Everyone has their own motivation for ms'ing.

The one thing I would highlight is that reputation doesn't really count for much with some companies and I wouldn't worry too much about it when you are very new to this. The only exceptions would be companies that uses long-term shoppers for premium assignments but it really is a case of research about the companies and who does what. I've been doing this for two years now and I've not really got a reputation with any of the usual companies...if they need a shopper in your area, they need a shopper...

I agree. But anyone who is new to the game cannot afford to mess up with an agency that allocates (or allows self allocation) based on scoring, if they want to pick up work from that agency in the future. Newbies probably have to cut their teeth with Gyp, RE, etc., to get a feel for it before they can move on to better agencies. If a new MSer loses credibility with an agency such as this, it doesn't have any long-term impact on earnings!

As an established MSer, I give my first job with any new agency more consideration than it probably warrants.

Which agencies should I sign up with if I want lots of nice jobs that pay huge fees and don't require the submission of reports?
  • Just accepted my first assignment for GR - only ever done some for RE before - it's a big supermarket home delivery. I don't even have to leave the house and will get my shopping for free! Anyone else done this? It seems a bit too good to be true - I bet the report takes about 2 hrs to fill in ....!!

The lack of reimbursement is a blessing in disguise. We were allowed to donate to charity; unfortunately I could never find a charity shop that would accept a donation of half a dozen fresh eggs.:rotfl:

True, was thinking about increased pay and premium jobs, not scoring.

As a newbie, I applied to Gyp and RE but have never done a job with them. I only do jobs that pay reasonably and then I do a good job for them. I'd say GfK is a good place to start, even though I hardly work for them now as I can't stand their guidelines. At least, they try to cover every eventuality!
