  • I am soooo annoyed with myself, I paid by card and watched the receipt being put on the tray. I thought great...don`t grab it and look obvious. Went to the table where I proceeded to stick the chicken into a bag to take with me cos I had only just pigged out on an RE pub meal! I sat pickin at the fries and of course munched a bit of the chicken to check it. Burped a lot on the drink! Having just drunk a glass full of coke and a latte on the RE assignment:rotfl: Slipped on the fries and dippers that were strewn all over the floor during the entire visit....skidding towards the bin and quickly disposing of the almost full fries and drink, but only one chicken bone:D Great I thought....nice little earner....25 mile trip as well:o

Well, if you have internet access to the credit card bill, you could try sending that bit of your statement, and send gap a note. I've never done it, and don't know if it would work, but they do have something on the site saying if you dont send 3 receipts they strike you off, so I would assume they let you have 2 without receipts?

Have emailed them in the hope that if they are desperate for the report I can do it...minus the receipt. I would have gone back today but still not heard back from them...nothing unusual tho with Gap:rotfl:

I had thought the same, but last time I mislaid my receipt they were quite insistent - first time I've ever not had the receipt, so I thought I'd be ok, but no! Anyway, I managed to find it eventually so they were happy, but I have a strong feeling they wouldn't have accepted the report without the receipt. That said, it's possible different rules apply for different clients.
  • Well, I've just completed my 15th assignment this week - and my 15th report. Things are a bit thin on the ground going forward though...only a couple of banks booked in for next week

I have been with them years and years and never forgotten the receipt before...I am not expecting to get paid!! Still not heard back from them yet tho...just the reminder email that the assignment is now overdue.

Chances are they will give you a ring to see what's hapened, then you can mention it to them then and see what they can do.
Usually with Gap, the only time you can get hold of them to speak to someone is if they ring you for whatever reason!

I'd do the report and then put in the comments box what happened ... you never know!

  • Does anyone have an idea on how you 'stop' being self-employed? I'm just about to move jobs, and have made the decision to stop Mystery Shopping at the same time, as the new job is more involved, and has no fixed hours...

Just ring them up and tell them. Your NI will end on the date you stop being self employed. If you've earned anything this tax year, you'll still have to do the next tax return, but after that, you shouldn't get one.
Here I go again on my own....
