Hello,
I've done my first assignment, but I need to register with the HM Tax people.
Thing is it says I need a tax return number which I can find on my form, but I've never had one before?
I'm still a student at the moment and I'm not really sure what to do or where I stand. I don't have a job at the moment so it will just be the odd Mystery Shop assignment.
Any info on how to register as self-employed if I'm a student? Or do I not need to?
Bit confused0 -
Where does it say you need a tax number?
Definitely register though as self employed - most likely tax will be negligible.(DFW Long Haul # 240 )0 -
how do you register as self employed if you work fulltime too? is this allowed?
Also which are the best mystery shopper websites to join?0 -
Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaxxxxxxx, come back! I popped on here to try and give you a yell only to see you'd been pootling around already lately!
Have just done a phone call, and it's letting me save it but not submit it as the 'Send to Helion' button is grayed out
Is there something blindingly obvious that I need to check I've done, or is it brokened!!

Advice please!
First mystery shopping job next tuesday.
Applied to be self employed today.
Have a really nasty feeling I put on the form that I've been self employed since 01/02/2010 instead of 01/02/2011...
what should I do!?!?! panicking.0 -

Is there any way to hide my photo when I log into the Helion site ? Just hate seeing it there staring back at me, feels really odd !!
I wondered that as every time I check the site my daughter shouts "ooooh there's Mam on the com-poooo-ta" :rotfl:
All the self employed queries, ring this number from the first post on the thread: 08459 15 45 15
That's the self employed helpline and they'll get registered and sort out any mistakes. They're really nice and helpful.
You do need to register even though you are a student. If you have a full time job, you also need to register. When you do your tax return, you fill in your self employed figures in one section, then there is an employed section where you can copy the details from your P60.Here I go again on my own....0 -

I was trying to register online for Self Assessment and it says I will need my:
Unique Taxpayer Reference (UTR)
plus either my
National Insurance Number
or
Postcode
Or am I doing the wrong thing?

That's registering to send your tax return online. You get your UTR in the post when you registered as self employed. Give them a call and register. If you're starting now you won't need to submit a return until January 2012.0 -

Can you send me a email and then I can look into your reports, for these type of issues always best to email as I get those straight away and only check in here a few times through the day.
Dinner first and then check ;-)
I get in trouble with the girlfriend when I work late so you may get an answer from me tomorrow morning!!
