Thanks, didn't think of water or open packaging. That is much more plausible and diet friendly!0

Is anyone doing the egg shops that are not egg shops anymore? I'm wondering what I can buy and what excuse I can use. The crushed crips is a good one but I don't want a cupboard full of crisps - Can I buy say a banana and take it back because it tastes funny or is that too ridiculous?
I sometimes feel like I have no shame!
I always find cookies to be the easiest - they're very crumbly;)
Tasty too...0 -
Another sad reflection of the times. A clothes shop for cool people that used to be on Tern has now shown up on RE. The difference? Instead of getting £x, you now get a QUARTER of this, with the other three-quarters down as reimbursement. I've just been on their website and you can barely get a pair of socks for the level of reimbursement (and I wish I was joking.)
Sigh...
I was going to mention the exact same thing. I also looked on the website and found a pair of socks that I could maybe gift someone but it had to be done today or tomorrow so I'm leaving it for the other million new "shoppers".
Why oh why do I still go on Retail Eyes?!

Is it the zoo type shop that you mean?? If so, that's rubbish.
I'm assuming the brief on RE then would give you the usual 'You can't return what you buy' crap??
I woul be tempted to ignore that and get the refund in order to make the 'fee' back up to what it was. If you take it back the following week for example, how would RE know anyway???Half of November Make £10 a Day Challenge: £51/ £1700 -
Not the Zoo but the university one.0

Hi shoppers,
I've been looking into doing mystery shopping for a while now and have signed up with a few companies. I'm self-employed and my usual line of work is very irregular, so I thought that while I'm out about I'd do an odd shop to earn myself an extra drink. Anyway, up until now I have only browsed the job opportunities and descriptions, basically to get a feel for what is involved and expected of me. I hadn't accepted any assignments purely because I'm a little nervous (perhaps others were on their first ever shop?), I was worried that I'd get something and not get paid for my time.
Today the phone rang, it was an assignment in my local town and I don't know why but I said yes..... My first ever mystery shop is taking place tomorrow which is great, but I'm still worried that it could go wrong.
I've got the questionnaire here, it seems fairly simple, I think that the hardest part will be remembering everything about the shop and the assistant that serves me while also remembering to stick to the scenario.
I know that I'm a newbie here, but if anyone has any tips or could share their first mystery shopping experience I'd be very grateful.
Thanks.0 -

And if you have to buy something, don't forget to get a receipt! Take notes if you can on your mobile by texting yourself. I do that all the time.
Also, wander past beforehand and take a picture from across the street if you can. That way when your mind goes blank you can see what was in the shop windows, how clean it looked and what was around it (also helps for when you suddenly remember halfway home that you needed to send in a picture with your report and have to go traipsing back).
I also text myself while walking around stores or have "conversations" with my voice recorder on the phone.
If you let us know which company you're shopping for (Mystery Shopping company NOT which client) then there may be some more specific hints.0
