Thanks! Starting with introduction to business studies, did you do that course?

Best of luck with it xx Which course are you starting with?

It was difficult but I had loads going on in my life and in hindsight I was doing to much with 90 points a year and no rest periods over the 4 years :o

The worst course was B203. It had five hefty text books and loads of heavy going and boring reading to do. It took much longer than the expected time. B301 had slim books but the texts in those were heavy too and took a while to sink in :o I enjoyed all of the other courses though, especially B201 and B324.

This is how I did it:

Thanks for all the messages everyone :)
  • Just read your doc Beccles. Unbelievable. I'm surprised you didn't get Post Natal Depression. I don't know how you coped with all that. Seems crazy. Let's hope you can rest a bit now, you need some time out.

Is B203 the orgs and environments one? Very hard going. I scraped a pass with that, just couldn't get going. I've got 90 points but I've had a few issues at home with DD1 having developmental problems coming to light which have taken up our time and nearly led to a diagnosis (autism).

No - B201 was orgs and environments one. I had a really good tutor on that one. She was very inspirational, brought loads of extra material to the tutor group forum and tutorials, and gave everyone a good kick up the bum when they needed it :D

B203 is business functions in context. It explains different functions of a business like accounting, marketing, operations etc. It tries to go too indepth in too short a time and most people couldn't keep up with it.

Sorry to hear about your daughter. It's tough when little ones have problems. Hope she gets sorted out soon and good luck if you decide to study again.

I did do that one. I found that one difficult, but I gave birth to Charlotte 4 days after the official course start date, so had to juggle study with a newborn slightly prem baby. Looking back it was a nice course that gave you a taster of things to come in the later compulsory courses.
Here I go again on my own....

    Well Done

That quote above is totally amazing. When I was BF DD, I read the complete works of Harry Potter. Brain wouldn't have been able to study!

I always count the one being served. Only put 0 if I'm the only one there. It'll tell you in the PDF manual but I'm not checking :)

    Thanks,
I don't know how I didn't know that. I think maybe because I've done so many ofthem, so never really read the notes each time, having had a couple of weeks without doing one, these little things get passed over. Particularly at the end of a long and busy day.
    Bed time now methinks! :)

  • i always have to read the notes, even though they always say the same thing. And i swear i got clocked doing one of those today, the staff were just a bit too friendly, even took my tray away, and i wasn't even finished.

Forgot to add: some know on here that I've been doing a degree with the Open Uni over the last four years (along with working, having children, dogs, housework, etc!)

Anyway, I'm now the proud owner of a BA Honours in Business Studies :D
    AWESOME! Well done x

Our tutor for 201 wasn't the best to be fair, he was the same for 203 but I found that easier as it had more context, 201 was very hard going with the various different organisations and the spider plant and thel like.

203 was the one i virtually did, then I had a load of pressure and it's atypical of me that I'll just keep trying with everything, then just collapse (not literally) under the strain.

I'll re-do it though and get back on the horse so to speak, I said I'd have a year off it.
