Congrats...I'm trying to do my MA whilst being a full time teacher and looking after puppy. My hubby lives away Mon - Sat as well so it ain't easy. Can't imagine how mad throwing kids into the mix would be. A nice evening off for you and a glass of vino/beer/spirits (delete as appropriate) is prescribed). :)

Forgot to add: some know on here that I've been doing a degree with the Open Uni over the last four years (along with working, having children, dogs, housework, etc!)

Anyway, I'm now the proud owner of a BA Honours in Business Studies :D

Oh well done (i think i was a little late reading it by the 50 responces already) but didn't want to not say it to! :D
I get what i want. That isn't because i'm a brat or spoilt. It's because i'm determined, i work hard for it and i achieve my goals!

I am so jealous. I wish my husband was away all week. Instead he's my shadow, when I get up to go to the loo he wants to know where I'm going! Redundancy sucks. Especially for the partner/spouse!

Have just had prescribed glass of wine (hoping that was meant for all of us and not just Beccles ;) ) while prawn toast in the oven. Am I allowed another?

I was filling in my self assessment. I entered that I earned £72 last tax year from MS work. When it came to the calculation it said that I owed £24. But I expected 20% of £72 which is £14.40.

Looking at the detailed calculation it said "plus Student Loan repayments £9.00". I have a student loan that has never been paid and I'm wondering if my self assessment earnings have took me just into the repayment zone. I earned almost spot on £15K from my main employer.

Don't know about you but I only have 10 fingers. No wonder you're such a fast typist!

Best of luck with it xx Which course are you starting with?

It was difficult but I had loads going on in my life and in hindsight I was doing to much with 90 points a year and no rest periods over the 4 years :o

The worst course was B203. It had five hefty text books and loads of heavy going and boring reading to do. It took much longer than the expected time. B301 had slim books but the texts in those were heavy too and took a while to sink in :o I enjoyed all of the other courses though, especially B201 and B324.

This is how I did it:

Thanks for all the messages everyone :)

Is B203 the orgs and environments one? Very hard going. I scraped a pass with that, just couldn't get going. I've got 90 points but I've had a few issues at home with DD1 having developmental problems coming to light which have taken up our time and nearly led to a diagnosis (autism).

I did get halfway through another course - last TMA was too late and rather than fail - I just stepped down (honoruably!) which is a bit of a waste but I'd rather get a good degree than just any degree.

Becles - you're an inspiration really with your kids, work, and doing a degree, well done! You've inspired me to have a look again.
