I am down South but I have a nephew in Glasgow, does that mean I can come to the coffee morning! I want some friends and I am going to throw my teddy out soon cos I want a MS buddy nearby.

Silly question - how do you spend 15 minutes in a bookmakers without looking suspicious (or feeling like a fish out of water!)? Just read the notes and that's what's required

I spend time in the toilet then go look at the racing pages and also football coupons, pick up a few a pen and a slip then sit down and watch the screens. I have been known to play a game on my iPhone for 10 minutes :p or better still write up my observations staff names on a cool app programme thus making it easier come write up. It looks like you are texting.

Just picked up a buffet pizza job, normally I don't them but will be in the area for a work lunch.

Is it still 1 buffet and 2 drinks? The reimbursement seems high for only that. How would I get around that when 2 of us will be eating? Split the bill? But then there is an extra drink involved grrrr

Look at the paperwork and there should be a section saying exactly what you get reimbursed for. I haven't done a buffet one but have done a meal one for the same client and it stated the options for reimbursement (e.g. 1 starter + 1 main + 2 soft drinks)

In a vain attempt to drum up some work I have been trawling through all the sites I have signed up to (I realise I have not had any work from the majority) however I noticed that certain jobs that sat on Esa for weeks and weeks have turned up on another site exactly the same!

So I think a job price for a "report and debrief" plus reinbursement is probably the way to go rather than an hourly rate, do you agree? Obviously tailored to the client rather than saying all jobs I'll charge £x because some may take more work than others.

I agree wholeheartedly. It'd take all of the uncertainty [for your client] that goes with hourly-charging.

Also, you may charge some clients more than others. Unethical, maybe, but sometimes; business is business ;)
