I'm sick of RE pub food jobs that provide incorrect contact information and when you either get the correct number from elsewhere or turn up at the pub, they don't do food. I've sent an email to them as it feels like I'm being 'tricked'. I've had 6 or 7 like this in the last 2 months.This space has been intentionally left blank0

TBH I only do the RE pub visits because I'm sick of the rubbish service in our local pubs.
No-one smiles, or says thank you, or makes an effort to interact at all, the bars are always sticky, they don't bother to clean up the empty bottles or glasses as they're all made out of plastic (so you can't use them in a fight), they don't bother to clear the tables and the toilets never have any paper, or working taps, or seats attached to the base!
As I used to work in a nightclub where we managed to avoid all of the above, whilst dealing with upward of 800 customers, in a stressful environment, with half the staff it just makes me :mad:
So RE satisfies my sense of moral justification (see, I'm not just in it for the money :rotfl:), plus it gives us a cheap start to a night out, or a quick drink at lunchtime/after work.

After sending several mails detailing a problem, I finally got a mail this morning telling me I'd been de-allocated!! When I spoke to them on this number, 3 out of 4 mails had been read, but obviously not properly. I've now been reallocated the visit, but the issue is still preventing completion of the report.

I gather they've been having email & phone problems. I had a similar problem with a job I did on Saturday where the emails still haven't arrived

Why not offer to put a Mystery Shopping program together for them? You're self-employed, so there's really no reason why you couldn't.
At least one other person on here, and I, have done just this.
You could do it as simply as visiting once, feeding back, and then visiting again a couple of months later to see if things have improved, or you could make it a more regular thing.
You'df also have the flexibility to charge much more than you'd normally get paid from RE, as you'd be doing all the work yourself, from sitting down with the gaffer to discuss his/her requirements, to writing up the report and your suggestions into something easy to digest.0
