2 Dark splodges on digital images - Camera problem

Hi Chaps, I have a Casio Exilim EX-Z1200 digital camera, bought in 2007, on some pictures dark splodges are visible near the top and the right hand side. Generally these only occur when this part of the image is in the sky, though not always. I am fairly sure that the problem is not on the lens as the splodges aren't in all pictures.

Any ideas, I am pretty much resigned to getting a new camera next summer but am interested on people's thoughts. Have a look at the images below, 1 with the splodges and 1 without.

Dirt/dust or grease on lens either inside or out. Clean the lens off and look at it under a good light. If it's internal, it isn't worth fixing, as repairs would outweigh the cost of a new camera.

I have cleaned the outside of the lens with cleaning fluid on a cotton bud type thing and the tissue paper (all from a camera cleaning kit).

Why are the splodges not visible in all images?

Also, I did a trial whereby I composed an image and noticed that there wasn't a splodge but when I half depressed the shutter button (to focus, meter etc.) the splodge was visible (on the screen).

Sounds internal, then. You'll not notice it in evey picture all the time- depends on where and how bad! Sounds like it may be on your focussing screen- will show in certain light conditions.

Hmm it's pretty annoying, didn't have too many scenery shots this year but am going to the Grand Canyon next year, so I don't really want splodges!
