I have messed about with something in Task manager. Either IEXPLORE... or iexplore.exe.

These were running and clogging up my computer so I ended their running process somehow knowing that if i re-booted my comp they would show again.

I cannot now load my beloved Ladbrokes poker or as a test, Morpheus, limewire .

I seem to be able to use the internet as normal as you can see but I cannot even download the new IE 7 from microsoft.

I have tried system restore in normal and safe mode I have also tried system registry repairs and I am still at a loss.

Please help
S!!!!horpe

iexplore is, of course, the executable for Internet Explorer. Stopping them in TM won't do anything permanent.

Were you online at the time? If not it's also used as the name for the trojan.KillAV.B virus. Search your C drive for iexplore.exe In windows XP home, it's IEXPLORE.EXE, all caps, and kept in program files, not system32. A pf or prefetch file is involved somehow elsewhere.

Download (http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/), use that to download InternetExplorer7 (from microsoft's website), install it and see if it works.
Sounds more like malware to me, but worth a try. Report back if it doesnt work
