On 9th DecemberI took delivery of my frozen hamper.I put the items straight into the freezer
as instructed.
Yesterday, i went to put some mince pies in the oven to serve for pudding.
You can imagine my amazement when i looked at the cooking insructions and saw that it stated
"NOT SUITABLE FOR HOME FREEZING!!!"(
OBVIOUSLY I WAS VERY UPSET AND CONCERNED ABOUT THIS )
I just want advice as to what to do next, and what are my rights,
am I right that there is a fit for purpose statement somewhere.
many thanks
as instructed.

Heat them up and eat them. Manufacturers put not suitable for freezing on loads of things that are fine. There is no reason why Mince pies cannot be frozen.0

What has the company that supplied you with the hamper said about this? Why are you very upset? (No its not obvious) Its just a few mince pies, if they are actual cooked mince pies I see no reason why you would of put them in the freezer in the first place instructed to or not.0 -
You bought them frozen so you are not home freezing them, they were already frozen and you were just keeping then that way.
Obviously this reply may upset you.Be Alert..........Britain needs lerts.0 -
I'm upset that so many folk post after midnight. All good boys and girls should be in bed at that time......:p0

There's very few things you can't freeze tbh. And even then the worst that will usually happen is that it won't taste too good.0

I am afraid that as you have frozen them and not followed the instructions, you are possibly going to suffer from a serious bout of Self Induced Silliraitis. This condition requires you to get in touch with the ambulance chasers. This condition normally affects numpties and costs the tax payer millions of pounds each year"NOT SUITABLE FOR HOME FREEZING!!!"(

OP, there is a difference between goods being frozen and then delivered and you freezing them at home.
In the case of mince pies all that would happen if you let them defrost and then re-freeze is that the pastry texture/flavour would be impaired.
So nothing to worry about and nothing to get upset about.0 -
Plus industrial/factory blast freezing is not the same as Home freezing.0

People die all the time of eating twice-frozen mince pies. It's a bigger killer than heart disease and cancer (all types) combined. Fact."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0
