Im am yet to start the ball rolling in terms of the bankc - however I have been with the CCCS about a year ago - prior to this I had the phone calls, the letters....they are all scare tactics...if it helps I would get yourself a cheap PAYG mobile with a new number -give it to friends and family etc and ignore the other one...the letters are just standard. To be honest 3 weeks over Xmas will be a great time as most places who work in debt management for banks etc may be off or only working set days....dont worry.xx :-)
I did that with the mobile. Great advice! I forwarded calls from my old one until I got sick of talking to the same creditors! :mad:0 -

but was shocked to find out i have to wait till january 4th. i phoned to see if a walk inservice was available or if i had to make appointmnet and january 4th was earliest i could get which i am alittle
about.
its 3 more weeks and now i have to go through xmas with this still hangng over my head. letters daily and phone calls to start aagin im sure.
i did have some payment plans set up wich kept the companies i owed money to banks and cc.s relatiely quiet. but this month i could no afford any of the payments due to vets bills
. but knew i was gonan go br this month. but now i have to wait till january.
also i got one letter saying i had t pay all i owed back or they would start legal proceedings, it looked like the standard letters i have had before excect just sais a solicitiors in top corner and sais i have 14 days.
do you think rthis is a real threat ? and what will happen then ?? i just need to hold them off till january 4th.
I'm in a similar position. I have booked my date for the 5th January. The fact is you should stop paying anything now, its a waste of time. To be practical, any legal action that your creditors are threatening will take weeks to sort out and then we are in the run in to Christmas/ New Year.
Just relax now that you've taken the decision and enjoy your christmas. I for one am going to not answer the phone to credit chasers and relax. Good luck.0 -

you've got your date, and once that date comes you'll be on the way to a lot more peace in your life
.
In the meantime, ignore the threatening letters, they are not going to do anything now until after New Year, and thats when you are going to court anyway. If the phone calls get too intrusive, switch your phone volume all the way down and use your answering machine or mobile phone for your friends and family.0
