Argh! Lloyds TSB!

findinghappiness
I was just wondering if anyone has any advice for me. I have several current accounts and savings accounts with Lloyds TSB and also a credit card and loan.
My credit card and loan are behind in payments because I am going through the process of a dmp.
I went to Lloyds to close my accounts because all my balances are £0 with no outstanding charges etc and they refused to close my account?? And now I am worried that they will continue to take payments for my loan or credit card therefore putting me in an unauthorised overdraft and creating charges for me. I have cancelled the direct debits for both the loan and credit card but they have taken payments out without warning before.
Can they stop me closing an account when the balance is £0???

They will want you to keep at least one current account open.
This process is long winded.
Close all of the savings accounts down one day.
A few days later close all of the current accounts you no longer need or use and keep only one open.
It shouldn't have to be done this way.
Some advisers at branch once they see a collections indicator or dmp they refuse to close any accounts which is stupid.0
