Transfer files/photos from old to new laptop??

If I want to transfer files and photos from my old laptop to a new laptop can anyone recommend such a device and where I can buy it from?

Having just done exactly that myself I used a simple USB pendrive. 2GB took almost everything in 3 goes.

Use Belkin Easy Transfer Cable - http://www.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Product_Id=300314 - it says it's for Vista but I use it reguarly to transfer from deskop (Windows 7) to laptop (Windows XP).

For that price you could get an 80GB external hard drive and then use it for backups.

It's more secure than an external drive, it's free, and it's more reliable.

If stupid people give out their passwords, then that's a different issue.

OK, so the hard drive is only as secure as the lock on your front door but sending something to Hotmail is the same as writing it on the back on a postcard.
