Positive feedback score, but nasty comment from seller

I had some trouble with a sale a few weeks back. The item never arrived, and I asked for a refund. The seller refused, and was rather rude (accused me of lying about the receipt, went on about it a bit). I logged a claim with Paypal, and the claim was found in my favour. It's been a month and the item is still not here, and is only travelling 10 miles.
I left a negative feedback saying 'never received item, seller refused refund'.
Today she left a positive feedback for me, but wrote 'terrible ebayer, do not deal with.' I'm not a terrible ebayer, I paid on time and waited over 2 weeks for the item (this was before the snow and Christmas rush, I would wait longer now).
Do you think anyone will notice, as I do sell on ebay also? I still have my 100% positive feedback rating.
Can I argue the feedback with ebay?

I didn't think sellers could leave feedback for buyers anymore.

  • I didn't think they could if there had been a problem. I'm a bit confused by it.

They can only leave a positive.

OP report to ebay as a false positive they will then get it removed for you
  • Cyberbob - Thanks, I will do that.

On a similar note, this item is showing up it my 'payment reminder' list. I paid, but it was refunded, so it now shows as unpaid. What am I meant to do now?
I actually have 2 unpaid items. Right after the other auction ended, the seller messaged me and told me not to pay her as she had posted the wrong photo. These things happen, and we left each other positive feedback. But I'm worried I'll end up with 'non-payment' strikes.

sounds like the second seller was new to ebay, as she lost her final value fees, that she could have got if she requested to cancel the transaction.
When I had one as a buyer a while back it stayed in my unpaid items for ages even after cancellation, and would come up at the checkout, so each time I had to untick it.

I don't know about the first one as I've never had to start a claim as a buyer.
If you have received a refund the seller cannot open a NPB.

In any case before you receive a strike you'd get a reminder, it would not just come out of the blue, you can stop worrying. :)

Ignore the first one, that's only for your records and you can just delete it from My eBay. If you paid, and if the seller was stupid enough to open an NPB, then you could appeal because you have a Paypal reference number for the original, refunded transaction.

The second one could in theory open an NPB, but I doubt she will. You could mention to her that she could get her fees back if she sends you a mutual cancellation request. That way she doesn't lose out, and, more to the point, she can't just open an NPB on you out of the blue.

EDIT - Terra has pointed out what you can't do as a seller, which I didn't know, having been on the opposite side of the fence for too long :(.

Actually I'm not sure if they'd be able to open it (never tried myself...) but it would be easily reverted anyway.
After telling people off because they make things up, I end up doing it myself...
