Storing costume jewelery.

Hi,
I am looking for something to keep my jewellery in, it is mostly cheap costume stuff like chunky bangles and pendants, I don`t wear earings. Most traditional jewelery boxes seem to be designed for more dainty bits. At the moment it ends up being tossed into my dressing table drawer which is not ideal.
Please can someone suggest something I could use?

Depends on how much you've got. I use one of those natty storage boxes with lids from Ikea0

I use a very large wooden box - big enough to hold smaller pretty boxes inside so I can subdivide. Each piece is then in one of those small organza bags to stop them scratching each other.
For rings I bought some of those display trays you see in jewellers. They stack neatly inside the big box.
Necklaces in regular wear hang on a display tree on my dressing table and I use an old Ferrero Rocher box ( large flat single layer one) for misc cheap earrings.0 -
I bought a cheap display cabinet (£5) and a junk fair, painted it and put in a curly branch. I hang bracelets, necklaces etc off this, an rings at the bottom/on smaller branches/twigs. My earrings are put through a ribbon in pairs, the ribbon hangs over a mirror in the bedroom.0

Thanks everyone for your replies. I have some Ikea boxes and also some pretty ones I picked up from Lidl in the spare bedroom unused! Silly me - had an idea in my head that I would have to buy something specially made for the job. Tut Tut! not very mse of me.0

Gosh, everyone is clever and organised, I don't like to tell you mine is thrown in a shoe box with most popular stuff hung over a post on the dressing table. I like the idea of the organza bags - where could I get some of these?
Are the IKEA boxes on the website if so could someone point me?
Many thanks from someone who needs to get their act together!0 -
If you did want something more sturdy, Muji have some nice boxes made for jewelery which are transparent and hardwearing. And if you win the lottery, Bobbi Brown has some georgous make up boxes which would double up as jewellery boxes, John Lewis also have some nice designs in.0

for bangles, hair clips, and brooches, i have a variety of cheap bakskets lined with material, they were variuous sizes in a set for £4.99 at the co op i think and are quite pretty, they go on a shelf to store..
for bead necklaces (the ones which won't get too tangled) i have a kind of wall basket thing
earrings are in a bowl, and rings in a different bowl, both on the dresssing table..0 -

Some of mine came with make up purchases from Elemental Beauty, others from jewellery purchases etc.
I topped up with a job lot from ebay - search for organza bags. They come in loads of sizes and colours and you'll be spoilt for choice. They are also very cheap!0 -
I've got some plastic hooks (cheap stick on ones from Wilkinsons / £ shop, hardware store) on the inside of my wardrobe doors - brilliant for keeping necklaces on - out of sight and easy to grab as I get dressed

For the price of buying a couple of organza bags you could buy a metre of organza and some pretty ribbon and make loads your self! Very little is easier to make than a small drawstring bag!
