quick question - could anybody recommend the best way to sell evening dresses ? I have 3 that have been worn once and have sat in my wardrobe collecting dust ever since. I have just taken them to the dry cleaners to get them spruced up ( will cost £10 ) so would it be best to ebay them or put them through a dress agency ? they all cost upwards of £150 each although I know I wont get anywhere near that, but I would like to make as much as possible from them for the challenge and it is the right time of year to sell evening dresses. I will never wear them again unless I go on a serious crash diet ie. do not eat for a month says she stuffing her face with crisps:cool: Official DFW Nerd Club Member #37 Debt free Feb 07 :cool:0

I've got an eveninig dress on ebay atm.
It depends on how much commission your local dress agency would take. I know some of them take as much as 50% and might take a while to sell.
At least with ebay you could always cancell the listing just before it ends if you haven't made enough (put a caveta in the listing saying "for sale elsewhere and your reserve the right to end the listing early").0 -
fishface, dont go there ! I just spent 6 hours yesterday in a freezing cold hall trying to sell my soap. Sold one box at £4.99 and now got the shivers. It's very hard trying to sell --I bet this didn't happen to the Body Shop....
Can somebody kindly give me a link to where I can read up on this Quidco thing? I don't knwo what that is. thanks x0 -
https://www.quidco.com - if you want to be referred PM me
edit - just noticed Quidco do not do referrals
there is also a thread on the referrer board about Quidco of you want to read up on peoples experiences. Basically you register with them and then when you want to purchase something that is registered with them you go through them and get cashback for doing so - sounds too good to be true but they do pay out and they are the highest paying too:cool: Official DFW Nerd Club Member #37 Debt free Feb 07 :cool:0 -

I think this would count in your challenge...
I've just taken out my new phone contract (better terms than old one, same price :money:) and have a free gift of Odeon tickets for a year. This is one film per month for twelve months.
However, don't have an Odean anywhere near here, so have decided to flog it. Any idea how much tickets usually are for Odeon, about £5?
No idea how to list on Ebay, so will tackle that later :rotfl:No longer using this account for new posts from 20130 -
I will have to check out closer bingo some time!!
Have updated our totals - elfin123 is definitely the runaway Week 1 winner! Although I think we can all consider ourselves winners for getting this extra income
Still awaiting week 1 totals from:

I'm off on honeymoon tomorrow morning so will give my totals for this week now! I have opened A&L account and Mr Pincher has recommended me for £50 each. I have also got £11 from Shop and Scan and 40p from Quidco so my week 2 total is £61.40.0 -
Sold 3 cd's on amazon - only made pennies but every little counts. Also sold 2 books on Green metropolis so that's £6, and earned £0.40 on Quidco.
Just having a go at the free bingo - thanks for the links!:D0 -
Hi
Sorry for delay on posting total.
This weeks grand total is.... £8.50
Sold an item on ebay for £7.50. Not had much time lately to add more for sale but have 4 days off at the end of this week so I shall be getting stuck in then!
Have a wonderful honeymoon Miss PP!0
