  • Hello all,

Well, not much going on today.

I've finaly heard that my lift is going to be fixed **WooHoo** I've only been nagging Jefferson for 8 months and we may still have to pay for the repairs although the new person looking into it is very good and is going to try to get the manufacturer to take responsibility. At least I'll have the lift back, carrying my shopping up 3 flights of stairs has not been fun!

It's shopping day today and I need to get some essentials like new nickers to pack for my hol lol. On the bright side my mother always buys me dinner on thursday and in return I drive her to the supermarket, helping her at the check out and do all the carrying... I'm a very good servant lol

Hope everyone else is haveing a productive day :)
  • Argh!! I hate snow!!

Not much to update on the debt front, I get paid on Monday so I won't know how my finances are until then. I'm quite looking forward to closing off my 2010 personal profit and loss sheet and getting a nice new start. Only 2 years until I'm out of major debt **WooHoo**

As I said I hate snow. What makes me hate snow is that I'm heading off to Canada on Tuesday to spend Christmas with my mom and sister and at the moment flights are being cancelled left right and centre! I can only hope that it's not too bad by Sunday. I really don't want to get stuck at the airport with my disabled mother.

On the bright side I did finally get my copy of How to train your dragon from Amazon, and my books have now made it to my local depot... I was expecting them to arrive today but then the blinking snow fell!!! Can I just say one more time, I really, really hate snow!!!

And to top it off I have a cold!!!

Never mind, it's nearly Christmas!!!! :)

Good luck on your plans for 2011! We are looking to pay off LOADS next year so will be interesting to see what things you come up with to increase income and decrease outgoings :)

To cancel you free trial, just send them off an e-mail requesting cancellation and that you look forward to a reply to say its been actioned :)
  • Thanks Nova and Good Luck! :o It's pretty daunting when you want to pay off large sums but positive thinking will get us all thought :D

That reminds me if anyone reading this is having trouble getting into that positive frame of mind I can 100% recommend a DVD called "The Secret" it's all about the power of positive thinking and as long as you have a open mind it is really inspiring!

Right I'm off to finish cleaning my appartment top to bottom. I've discovered that my attempts to keep the heat in has resulted in a lot of condensation (D'oh!) so I have to give all the windows a good clean and I need to take up all the curtains as they're directing the heat from the radiators into the window space instead of the room :( I've also got to figure out how to get rid of a little bit of mould in the bathroom. What's that about a womans work!
  • Well, I managed to get loads done yesterday but today I just feel wasted! The germs are deffinately winning but I think my cold's on its way out. Good thing too as I've got a very long jurney to make in a few days and making it with a cold would not be fun. Still this evening I have to drag myself off the sofa and get the rest of my appartment clean... I think I'll just watch one more episode of Judge Judy first :p

As far as dealing with my debt goes I'm not having the best day. Firstly I went to check my sealed pot today as I've been payed :j I didn't have anything left in my bank after all my bills came out :( but never mind. I decided that instead of buying lotto tickets this year I'll put the £2 per week into my sealed pot account... considering that I haven't won anything on the lotto for years I think that's probably the wisest move :D Anyway so my end of month sealed pot was £8.22 not bad as I've only been doing it for a week.

I went to put that money on my cc and got a bit of a shock.

I've had to use that card for Christmas pressents and car repairs in the past month and I was stupid enough to go over my limit  Ok, so it was the interest that did the damage but that's not the point and I'm a little angry with myself for not being more careful. I suppose there's no point crying over spilt milk and the fee was only £16, so it could have been much worse.
I decided to pay off the money that was over my limit plus the £8.22 I was going to pay anyway so atleast I feel as if I have done something.

Looking into January I'm now a little worried that it will be a hard month. I'm off on holday soon (not really my choice but my mom needs a someone to look after her on the flight) and I need to get spending money, I don't intent to spend much if I can help it but that plus the credit card mess up is going to leave me seriously skint :( I suppose these things are sent to try us and looking forward Feb and March will be much better with no tax to pay and bonus time comming up (assuming I get one this year - the jury's still out on that one) Still it doesn't stop my worrying. Maybe I'll take less spending money than I intended, after all my food and board should be free.

So, all in all not the positive day I had hoped for. I'm glad we're in still in December as I really want to start January with a very possitive outlook (start as you mean to go on) hopefully but the time I get back I'll be feeling a lot more possitive and ready to plug on!!
  • I forgot to add I made another £2.50 on surveys this morning :)
  • I'll keep this one quick as I'm jet lagged, I have caught my sisters Canadian germs, I'm watching Grey's Anatomy which always makes me over emotional so all these factors put together result in me talking gibberish.

So I was visiting my sister in Toronto for Christmas which was cool. I had enough food to feed an army, got enough books and DVD's for christmas to keep me busy for the next 3 months and managed to stick to my £100 spending money.
I only got back this afternoon but I managed to go shopping for groceries and got nearly everything I needed reduced! I love the post Christmas sales :) Then my mom baught my petrol so all in all a good day... when you forget about the jet lag and cold lol.

Being in Canada I didn't get to do Fridays sealed pot so I did it today £3.65 for the pot. Total is now £11.87 :) I was worried about what money for Jan as with my car needing work and the holiday but my mom has offered to loan me a few quid to help me get by *bless her* so I should be ok.

Friday 31st I will be starting my second challenge for the year. I will be weighing in for the first time (I'm terrified as I've been enjoying eating whatever I like for the past month or two) I will also be starting the 200 sit-up program (http://www.twohundredsitups.com/) to tone up my tummy. I've done it before, back when I was training all the time.

Anyway, by now I'm probably rambling and I no longer have the focus to re-read what I've written. So, happy belated Christmas and wishing everyone a productive and debt free New Year... with lots of booze, party poppers and midnight snogs! (And now I know I'm rabling, off to bed for me!)

Just dropping by to say good luck with your challange and I hope you feel more positive with a good nights sleep.
Thanks for the link for 200 sit ups I will be joining you on this one and then maybe try the 200 squats, after losing weight this year I could do with the toning.
Have subscribed and will be dropping in for updates :)
    MARCH 2016 DEBT £25750/ £25035
EST DFD JAN 2021 (that needs to change)
NOW JAN 2019 (that still needs to change)
  • Thanks Herewego :)

The 200 squat program is brilliant although it is deceptively hard. It is worth the pain though as it really works on your upper thighs :)
  • New Years Eve is finally here. From tomorrow I will be putting into practice all the little things I want to do in 2011, both big and small. So just to clarify in my own mind, these are the things that I want to do next year.

Pay an extra £4,000 of debt
Lose 28lbs to get down to my ideal weight
Complete as many paid surveys as possible
Keep up with the virtual sealed pot challenge
    Keep to my £100 budget
Place any money I haven’t spent at the end of the month into my VSP

So, that’s me for the next year. Good luck to all of us trying to deal with their debt in 2011 and Happy New Year!!
