BT Line connection times

Hi,

I am moving into a new build house soon and I found the BT connection thread useful.

However, I just wanted to know how quickly it took BT to do from ringing them up, eg. if I was to ring then up on monday morning, when would my line be activated/connected by?

Thanks for your help

Phil

It depends on how busy BT are in your area.

They used to be able to do it within a week or so but many people are reporting that it takes upto 3 weeks now.

BT Openreach (the part of BT which does this stuff) is 'running out' of engineers, hence the long lead times.

However, Ofcom have just agreed to allow them to 'borrow' 150 engineers from other parts of BT to help with their workload until the end of the year..

I live in Wokingham, just down the road from reading so hopefully it wont be too long.

Also, I'm not moving into the new house until the 4th of December. Do you think I could ring up now can make an appt. for around that time. I just want to make sure we have it all setup before xmas.

    Thanks for you advice,

    Phil

the sooner the better! With it being a new dev, there may be some external line plant that needs completed. No prob booking that far in advance.
