Hi All
I work as a warehouse contracts administrator I have been there for 3 years but my contract I mainly work on is moving I expected it to move within resonable distance from where I work but to my shock its moving 140 miles away. The company I work for is not offering any support & the company I that the contract is moving to dosent have any jobs as they say they have a recruitment freeze what should I do?:(

OP Are you in a trade union,or failing that,do you have a HR dept or contact ?Space available for rent0

If the job is moving 140 miles then that is a potential redunancy what does your contract say about locations.
It is not clear from what you say what is actualy happening or why is this a TUPE.
Jobs moving and company changing why both at the same time?
Sometimes this just causes all sided to deny responsibility for the termination. I think you need to establish the order(job location/employer) to decide who is responsible for the job move and hte potential redundancy0 -
Just to expand on what getmore4less is saying, if the work is being TUPEd to a location 140 miles away and you cannot relocate, the new employer will need to take on the costs of redundancy. As some employers get confused in this situation and believe they are not liable, you may be advised to speak to ACAS. I know of someone who had to take the new employer to tribunal in the end. They paid up, of course.
However you will get very little redundancy if it is a statutory redundancy pay out. I advise you to start looking for another job.0 -

Its seems I have go through this bizarre ritual , the company I currently work for say there is no work, me & the union have too say the is work & there are two out comes I either get voluntary redundancey or the company I work for gives another role. I will tell you the outcome .0

What is actualy happening
If they say your job is primeraly connected to the contract
So has another company has got the contract, but wants to move it to the new location.
The contract is moving to the new location and your company can no longer fullfill the contract because the workers doing it can't or do not want to move.
How many other people are affected by this?0 -
I had this and whatever is decided is decided, find out what you are entitled to and how much cash you will be offered as it may help you make a decision.0
