How do I stop a number calling me?

Over the past 3 weeks, I keep being called by the same number. A quick google tells me it's a marketing call centre. Fortunately I'm rarely in when they call, but it's annoying coming home to find I've missed calls only to find its this one number. I'm signed up to BT privacy so I shouldn't be receiving cold calls, but how can I stop this number calling me. As I'm signed up to BT Privacy can I complain to TPS about this number?

Yes, contact TPs or you can pay for calls to be blocked via bt.

You can't complain until you've picked the phone up and have details of the company calling you - TPS regard it as a "silent call" (which they can/will do BA about) until then...0

Well you could try subscribing to choose to refuse where you can block up to 10 telephone numbers, it can even block a particular witheld number too, however it comes at a price of around £3.80 per month.
I would suggest you call BT on 0800-789-456 for further details.0 -
Answer the phone once to these people and tell them to remove your number from their database

I had same problems so spoked to BT about the 'choose to refuse' service and told them that I should'nt have to pay because I already paid for stopping withheld numbers getting through and others services so I could'nt do anymore. In the end they offered me one months free of 'choose to refuse' which was enough to block the numbers I wanted and then cancelled the service after the month. The calls were then unblocked but they had got the message and never rang again.
PS: it was'nt DPS that was calling was it?Regards,
Dave
If only I had a pound for every time I used the thanks button
