WH Smith online - are pants!

I ordered some 11 books out of a series of 13 on Friday afternoon. Some of them were in stock while others said they would be 5-7 working days, which was fine - if they didn't arrive in time for Christmas they would do for birthday near end of January.

Got home from work to about 15 emails first confirming my order, then telling me that most of the books were not only not available but weren't even IN PRINT! They said that the publisher was CONSIDERING reprinting them and when they did, Smiths would get them to me as soon as possible!

I don't think so!!

Absolutely not good enough and so I emailed Customer 'Support' to tell them this wasn't good enough! I only ordered with them because of the 5-7 working day availability.

Absolutely no response. Emailed again. No response. Cancelled my order online, and the availability then changed to 'Ready to Ship'!! So I have emailed them again today (just havent' had chance to phone) and am still awaiting a reply.

Don't bother ordering with them, don't expect any kind of Customer support - JUST DON'T BOTHER WITH THE USELESS SODS.
If you have nothing constructive to say just move along.

  • I can't say I'm a fan of WH Smith in general. Very expensive shop. :)

Their on line book prices are often good but their availability is suspect. There is a new book I am waiting for that has been on 5-7 day availability for weeks. I know for a fact that the first print run only arrived in this country on Friday.

Just thought people would like to know that this saga all started on 9th December and, to this day, I still haven't had anything other than their automated response to my emails.

    Useless utter shoite!!!
