City Link Tracking

Hi,
Do City Link recycle their tracking numbers?? I ordered a few items from Amazon last week & the estimated delivery date is today. I keep checking the City Link website (with the tracking number I was provided with), but keep getting the message: "Signed for by Hassan at 10.27 on Tuesday 26th October in Nottingham".

You might have been given the wrong number? I'm pretty sure they don't reuse numbers, if they did they wouldn't reuse them within a couple of months.
I'd ring Amazon (on their website you can get them to call you back) as being the sender they would have to enquire what happened with the items and if necessary offer you a replacement.0 -
I had the same issue, and called Amazon - indeed, City Link do seemingly reuse tracking numbers. Pretty useless, as now I have no way of tracking my delivery, which 'will be with me by 5 Jan'. Which considering I paid for Express Delivery for today is not very good...0

I know someone who was chasing something up yesterday. He was told they have such a backlog - due to an unexpected high volume of parcells (??) it will be mid January by the time they get everything sent out.0

I am also caught up in this debacle.
Ordered something and paid for expedited delivery - was assured delivery date of 22nd Dec, did not arrive and was not even dispatched by then. I called and was reassured that the item would arrive by the 24th. I explicitly check for certainty as another supplier stated that they could guarantee delivery of this item by the 24th. Again Amazon stated not to worry it would arrive.
What do you know.
It is still not here, it was dispatched from the Amazon depot less than 10 miles away on the 22nd and somehow was sent to a big depot in the Midlands where it has sat since.
Amazon then dispatched a 'replacement' and decided that it would be acceptable to send it via standard Royal Mail service. Nice touch.
ETA? Not before the 5th of Jan - yeah City link are having a well earned holiday and well the 'super saver' style delivery is a bit slow init.
I know we had snow and I know this caused delays, but why take these orders and make these promises?0 -
The city-link.co.uk website usually asks for your postcode if it's a reused tracking number. Not sure why it hasn't for you though
