A few questions...
Are you having one?
Are you organising your own?
Are you staying overnight somewhere?
Are you having an activity?
My h2b is struggling with ideas so much he's got me worried about mine. I do NOT want to get legless and I very much want to include an activity that gets us all muddy, and a bit of a pamper too. I think.
The thing is, these things are all so expensive and I can't bear the thought of spending more money like that! Am i being tight/boring?
Cheers!

The title of your thread made me laugh. In Scotland pigeons are called doos, so I had this image of a pigeon out on the town with L plates and a veil, clutching a breezer.
I am worried about mine too. My MOH fails to understand that when she was having her babies I was out doing the club thing and now she's up for clubbing I'm bored by it. She wants a boozy weekend in Newcastle. I can't imagine anything worse (nothing against Newcastle). So I've asked some friends to help me organise something. I want to go shooting then maybe for a meal. I don't care if its old and boring. I just want to shoot stuff (of the clay variety rather than animals), eat yummy stuff and have a nice night.
H2b also wants a quiet one of go karting and a trip to the casino.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0 -
I'm having a hen doo, I know the date and absolutely nothing else! Luckily I trust my BM who is organising it completely, but if it was either of my other BM's organising it, I would want more to with it...
I expect it will run along the same lines as all my married friends hen doos..
Friday night; arrive simple meal & catch up on gossip
Saturday daytime: Activity (we have done spa's/burlesque dancing/go carting/pig racing/it's a knock out etc..)
Saturday night: meal out & dancing (not big clubs, usually the cheesier the better!) Fancy dress compulsory (of the rediculous-looking type, never the sexy look!).
Sunday: eat off the hang over with big fry up and all go home.
They usually end up costing about £150-200, which is quite a bit, but as all us girls live long ways apart, when we have a hen doo coming up, we combine it with our yearly get together.

I'm doing a burlesque dance class in the day, followed by a meal and VIP entry into a club, with a resevered booth, decorations, a free drink and some nibbles and sweeties. We are then stoping in a Travelodge - total cost per person is just over £65! :j

i want to go to london to watch lion king show- so was maybe thinking of going on the friday- having nice meal that night- stay in hotel- shopping and chilling on the sat day, sat night- see the show, then come back on the sunday. not sure of the price though- seems a lot.
prob will also have a night out round here with all the silly bits on me.Is a married woman!! 23rd July 2011 Best day of my life!
TTC first baby Jan 20130 -
I happen to be getting married 2 weeks after Take That play Cardiff - we have 8 tickets and are going to have the BEST TIME EVER!!!! (Not planned at all of course!)
BM will probably organise some awful legless p**s up in the local town that I will refuse to go to until persuaded my much champagne and cocktails!!0 -
I've already had one hen party - a day at a spa with 7 friends/family, and am in the process of planning my second one for the week before the wedding. I had to have the spa day one fairly early as my SIL was nearly eight months pregnant at the time, so wanted her to be able to come before she had my nephew two weeks ago.
So the first one was a pampering, relaxed day, cost about £60 each for a whole day at a spa, including lunch. It cost a bit extra if anyone wanted a massage or other treatment, but you got full use of the swimming pool/sauna area and gym included in the day price.
For my second one, my BM is organising a pole dancing party and then we'll go out for a meal/few drinks after. The pole dancing is £25 each I think, and then will prob go somewhere fairly inexpensive for a meal/drinks.
With regards to the organising, my BM has done all of that, she's been brilliant! I decided what I wanted to do and she did all the organising. But I would have happily organised it myself if she hadn't been so fantastic:j Debt Free 27.07.2011!! :j0 -

Take your tissues! I went to see The Lion King on Broadway, was sobbing at the very start! The music - you could feel the drums through your body, and the animals were just awesome! I am quite a greeter (greetin' is what we call crying in the NE of Scotland) anyway, but it was just amazing! I would highly recommend it!
For my henshine I am hoping for a weekend in Edinburgh - with a ghost walk and drinks/dvds on the friday night, and shopping, cocktail making, dinner and dancing on saturday, then fry up and home on sunday! My mum and BMs are arranging it though, so I am not getting told the details til the day we go - which is stressing me a bit! I know the date, but thats it!0 -

If you don't want to stagger round town with L plates and a boa/sash/cowboy hat then you shouldn't! From my research, if you look at "package" hen/stag do deals, they work out more expensive than if you put the bits together yourself.
I am planning to get dolled up and go out in London, drink cocktails, have dinner and watch a show - maybe something burlesque.
My H2B is going paintballing and go-karting, and then off to uphold the age-old stag do tradition of visiting a strip club.
My bridesmaids are helping me organise mine, but ultimately I get the final say on what I do want and what I don't. I think we will be staying in London overnight, will try to find a cheap hotel on lastminute.com or somewhere like that.
What about a spa coupon from MyCityDeal or one of those other sites? They usually work out really cheap.
By muddy, do you mean some sort of activity? What about Go Ape?0 -
when you say you want to get muddy...to me that would be a lovely pamper day at a spa...with a lovely mud treatment....couldn't be doing with anything in a field!frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!
2017 toiletries challenge 179 out 145 in ...£18.64 spend0 -
muddy - both actually. I'd like to do something that gets us all messy, so we can then go and be pampered afterwards. I did Go Ape! last year and that was pretty tame really!
I've told my friends and hopefully they're going to sort something out! H2b is another issue really. He would rather not really do anything because he's really worried his friends are going to tie him naked to a lamp post or get him paraletic because they're going to be on a mission to get him drunk. When he tried to say he didn't want a stag do they all got narky with him. So now he's saying he'd like to do an acitivty day instead, but can't think of anything that one of his friends hasn't already done.
When did going for a few drinks in one pub with your male friends and male relatives turn into such a big deal? With people going abroad and things? I just don't understand it, and I certainly don't agree with any of that last night of freedom carp.saving up another deposit as we've lost all our equity.
