Turkey Crowns?

Hey guys am on the look out for a Turkey Crown just wondering if any of you had tips on good but cheapish ones?
There are 3 of us but would like enough for Turkey sarnies and some left for Boxing Days mash up!
I have been looking for 1 similar to a joint in the tin foil tray so I dont have to buy a new roasting tray!
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

you can get a large tin foil tray for 99p, and get a large turkey crown seperately. If you get a large one there will be plenty of leftovers, and you can freeze any spare in a curry sauce out of a jar for later in the holidays. Just mix it straight from the jar with the cold meat and freeze, do a curry and a chinesey one if you've got enough leftovers. I'm getting 4 foil trays, one for goose, one for turkey, one for parsnips and one for roasties, i kept a couple of smaller foil trays to put stuffing in, so no washing up the yukky trays for me!! i love throwaway stuff, lol!

Thanks guys! Iceland is 35 miles away I am afraid! Bit gutted as I know you can cook them from frozen too! I have Tesco, Aldi, Lidl and Morrisons at my disposal!

  • Hi I paid £13 for a 2.015kg crown in Tesco today. It said it was 1/2 price so I hope its a good price for weight. I don't know when offer ends. I hope this helps
Sew it, knit it, glue it, reuse it , don't buy it

Wow! Why bother with an expensive Turkey Crown. If you are trying to economise why not buy a Whole Turkey. That way you have a choice of white meat or dark meat (from the legs). The wings and legs are sometimes preferred.
With all that extra meat you can invite us all round to help with the leftovers

Turkey Crowns are more expensive even though the producer probably sells the wings and legs separately.
Cooked in the tin already mentioned @99p. What could be better?

Don’t forget the stuffing balls. :xmassign:

I am not a fan of dark meat or meat on the bone! Only started eating meat again when my son was born and only eat turkey and chicken! Was a vegetarian for nearly 14 years but after giving birth to my son in July 08 i was still craving chicken dinners! Gave in on Christmas 08 and had turkey dinner! x

Aldi do a nice Turkey crown in a foil tray think it has maple cured bacon over the top, we've had it the past 2 years, loads of meat & very tasty. A few people have recommended them on here in the past.
I like a turkey crown as it's easy to carve , no faffing about with bone's etc, be different if I was going to use the bones to make a stock but I don't. Think it's around £13 but couldn't swear to it.
    Booo!!!

I now have to learn how to cook a turkey as I have never cooked a turkey or chicken from scratch usually just but joints!
Serious blonde moment on my part!!!
