IIRC they are non-refundable, pay at the time of booking rooms.
  • Conditions may have changed since we last stayed in a £29 room in August. Room was secured by credit card but payment was taken on arrival. I paid in cash , with ID, as there is a £2 charge for payment by credit card.

Normally with Premier you pay on arrival, and can cancel up until 1300 on the day of the first nights stay.

With the £29 deal you cannot cancel/amend/get a refund
  • Yeh - we stayed at one last weekend and secured on a cc, but paid with a debit card on arrival as the surcharge is on cc only.

As said, if you want to pay by cash, then you have to have a valid id on you otherwise it's debit or credit card

AFAIK it's still pay on arrival, but of course you can't cancel and if you don't show they'll take the £29 straight off your card.
As opposed to travelodge which always takes payment at the time of booking, no matter what type of tarrif you've booked.
  • I too have been thinking about booking one of these cheaper deals with premier inn, and I know that in doing so in order to get the cheaper price, you pay and the money is non-refundable.

however, is it possible to take out insurance policies on this trip, to cover for a cancellation? Reason I ask is that I have secured train tickets to london and want to book in at a premier inn there for a couple of nights - in doing so the cost will be a couple of hundred pounds - but having seen how bad the snow is and the effect on public transport, I'm a little worried should there be a repeat of this weather in the weekend I'm booking I'd be unable to make the hotel booking if the trains were cancelled!

Good luck with finding a Premier Inn room in London for £29, I've never managed it.;)

  • No, it's not possible - although the rooms are discounted, and there's also the travel lodge option - but same point sticks really - can you take out insurance to get the rooms refunded in case trains are cancelled??
