Private Car Prak (APCOA) - Roxburghe

Hi People,

I know there are plenty of threadson here regarding Roxburghe etc. but i just wanted to see if anyone thought they had a leg to stand on with the ticket i received.

I live in Windsor and work in London whch means everyday i drive to Slough train station and park my car in the private car park there operated by a company called APCOA.

I received a ticket for parking in a 'restricted area' - however this is the same space I and other motorists have been parking in for the last 7 years.

It isnt a marked bay as such like the other spaces within the car park however it isn't clear that the area is prohibited because there is a line which makes it look like a viable space and there aren't any no paking signs or shading to suggest otherwise. I have been takin photo of other cars that are parked there on a daily basis to expose the fact that it isnt clear that its a no parking area. Moreso, since motorists park there when the car park is still half empty as its closer to the station. The space isnt an obstruction to anything or anyone.

It doesnt seem as if they are issuing tickets every day as some days its the same cars parked there (like i was for the last 7 years). I have recorded 16 cars that have parked in these spaces over the last 2 weeks when the car park is still half empty, which suggests that motorists are unaware they shouldn't be parking there.

I sent APCOA a letter (so they now know i was driving plus they have CCTV in the car park) and they responded by saying that my claim had been rejected and the fine still stood. It has now gone up to £127 and I have received 2 letters and half a dozen phone calls from Roxburghe. I have told Roxburghe I am contesting the claim but they keep calling.

I plan to send another letter with the research i conducted back to APCOA, my local newspaper, office of fair trading etc.

Do they have a leg to stand on?

Thanks!

  • You are wasting your time communicating with them, it only encourages them to see you as a potential mug who may pay up if the threats are increased.
Ignore them from now on, they will give up eventually.
Roxburghe never have a leg to stand on and never go anywhere near a court.

When Roxburghe or Graham White (also Roxburghe) call, tell them that any debt to that company is expressly DENIED. Not disputed or contested, denied.

Tell them that their contact is harassment and you will report them if they phone or write to you again, quote a few nuggets from here as well if you like:

Then tell them to return the file to the originator immediately. Don't discuss anything. Phone down.:p
