Going to my son's and grandsons Christmas Day, no need to plan a menu for that.

Then Boxing Day they all come to me...son, daughter in law, grandsons, daughter and her partner and our precious new grandbaby to be in it's mummy's tum.

Menu is crispy duck pancake, turkey/trimmings and a choice of Christmas Pud/Brandy butter or gateau/cream. Followed by cheese/biscuits.

Maybe not the most original menu but who cares what you're eating when you're fortunate enough to be surrounded by your beloved family?

Geez do some people think Christmas dinners just arrive on the plate bought, prepared, cooked and ready for everyone’s consumption without any forward planning. This being a money saving forum one of the aims of reading and posting is to try and help each other in saving money...Working out meal plans allows for less waste, both in terms of food waste and money wasted on unnecessary food. Christmas Eve
    breakfast: toast or cereal
lunch: sandwich or roll, maybe a mince pie
dinner: anything quick & easy :)

    Christmas Day:
breakfast: Bucks Fizz and more Bucks Fizz! Maybe a few chocolates from the Christmas tin.
dinner: Turkey and all the trimmings, followed by Christmas pud with butter & sugar (blame my Dad for that topping!) or mince pies and custard or cream.
tea: help yourself rolls, cold meats, salads. Christmas cake, trifle or chocolate log

    Boxing Day
    breakfast: toast or cereal
dinner: cold meats, bubble & squeak, jacket potatoes. Apple crumble with custard/cream/ice cream (whatever you fancy) or mince pies or Christmas pud.
    tea: same as Christmas Day.

My brother and his wife & daughters usually come to us on Boxing Day, but this year both my nieces (and my son) are working on the Sunday so they will come to us on Monday. That means I'll have to think of food for Sunday 26th as well!

Thanks everyone for posting. I will be having turkey dinner on Xmas day but haven't thought beyond that.

I will be hosting on Boxing day and quite like the idea of fish for the meal, perhaps salmon. But nothing complicated! If anyone has any suggestions of what they've done beofre I'd be extremely grateful! Thanks.
