Blu-ray DVD players

I'm thinking of getting a blu-ray dvd, can please ask what may be a sill question - would I be able to play normal dvds on it? I don't want to throw away all my dvds or keep my existing dvd box as well. I'm already replacing my vinyl records with cds - whatever next.

Yes you can, they are normally backward compatible0

Yes they should work fine some play mp3, jpegs and even mkv files and youtube now0
