How long do you have to cancel your switch to a new provider?
Options
I moved house at the end of October and have been in the process of switching both my gas & electricity provider from OVO to Npower Juice. The reason is that Npower were offering £200 cash back at the end of the year (which made the cost about the same, and as I knew Npower I was happy to continue with them)!
However....todays news that Npower are increasing their rates has made me rethink this!
I'm still in the switching process (I think?) in that I have only just submitted my first meter reading to Npower (who will pass it on to OVO who will use it for a final reading to reconcile my account for closure with them). Am I too late to stop the switch if it looks like OVO's rates are now much better?

Cooling off period is either 7 or 14 days (can't remember) from when you start the process so that will be well passed. As you have submitted a reading to NPower I suspect you will be within a few days either side of your supply start date with them.IT Consultant in the utilities industry specialising in the retail electricity market.

You need to find out where OVO get their energy from, its possible that they too have a price rise pending. That gum you like is coming back in style.0

Nothing to stop you switching back immediately if you want (subject to any cancellation charge).0

Npower said that it could take up to 40 days before I get transferred to them - so does this mean it's definately too late to halt the process?0
