If you are sure you want to switch line rental (check out Martin's reasons for keeping with BT) then a uswitch comparison via quidco will earn you £16 cashback and give you a couple of options for £8.99/month line rental.
Remember to avoid getting tied in to a long contract so you are free to move again if necessary.0 -
It rather depends what you mean by 'similar'.amos71 wrote:I want a phone line for the odd occasional call mostly to landlines. I see BT has line rental from £11 is there anyone outhere cheaper for a similar deal.
There are a number of firms which simply re-sell the BT product at a small discount and other which, now that local loop unbundling (LLU) is with us, try to convince you that their 'product' is better.
I just re-read THIS THREAD whenever I hear someone is contemplating change and think to myself, "Would I take the risk for the sake of (say) £2 per month?"
The answer is always the same.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -

They charge the same as BT £11 a month. Plus if you use caller display they charge for it where as BT dont. Then theirs the line maintenance attitude highlighlighted by Heinz.:eek:0 -
What about BT's Light User rental, half price,I think, if you can tick all the boxes.Don`t steal - the Government doesn`t like the competition0
