Pull cord - light

The pull cord in my bathroom stopped working a while ago, tried it so many times and just could not get it to click - as result spent the best part of a week with no light and no extractor fan. The landlord came round and it bleeding worked after a few pulls and he said that sometimes the spring just gets stuck - is its broken again now and hasn't worked for the last two days is there anyway I can just replace the spring or fix this in some way - I don't really want to have to call the landlord out again for it to work again!

you can try WD40. that sometimes works.
otherwise change the whole fitting for a new one. they are not expensive.
simple enough job.Get some gorm.0 -
I changed one in the house that my son rents out the other day. It certainly did not take more than 10-15 minutes, and only cost about £1.27 to buy in Tool Station.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -

I wouldnt recomend spraying WD40 near an electrical switch as the spring and terminals are too close together to try this as its flamible and also conducts, like mentiond a new fitting is prob best but this should be your landlords problem and not yours unless you dont really mind doing it to avoid the hassle.0 -
Couple of quid to replace . Easy enough to swap though it should be the landlord's responsibility to deal with it.
The LL has finally agreed to fit a new oneAfter 2 weeks I might finally have a proper working light!
