Furniture Village, Poor sales staff training

Hi All,
We ordered £3200 worth of sofas from furniture village back in November and when ordering I asked the sales assistant if they accepted American Express as I get 1.5 BA miles for every £ spent.
He said NO.
I paid the deposit on another card and the balance cash.
The sofa is due to be delivered on Tuesday. However I have just found out that not only do FV accept American Express I would have got a 10% discount aswell!
I've emailed FV, what do you think they will do?
I'm tempted to cancel the order as I'm not only going to be the best part of 5000 miles down which are worth £95 i'm also losing a £320 discount! however they state that they will charge a cancellation fee although its doesnt say how much this is. I thought they had to state the fee?

Hi Jackie
Ahh yes I can see the confusion I created there. No, the're was no deposit as such they just asked me to pay an initial amout so they could process the order, however this wasnt a % it was really up to me, I paid £700.0 -
Was it made to order (doesn't sound like it if it only took a month or so?) My son bought a new sofa to order and it took 14 weeks to come.0

Do you think they might refund the payment and let you pay straight away with American Express? That would seem a perfect solution for you0

I hope so Jackie. It would be the easiest thing all round. But after a simlar event with B&Q im not so sure. I ordered a radiator from the website. A day later it dropped £50 in price. I called them and they said they would need to cancel and re-order, I said OK. Then they couldnt even do that because it had been sent to the courier for delivery, so I ordered again and refused the delivery.
B&Q had to pay for two deliveries and one return to sender which would have cost them about £80+ (i also use their courier)
They should have just given me the refund!0 -
Well, fingers crossed for you. Good luck!0

AMEX may be available now at FV, but perhaps was not at the time you ordered and paid for the goods.0

It was available before we ordered.0
