Looks like amazon is down

Can't get amazon.co.uk to load up.

Could it be something to do with hackers relating to wikileaksand if so what do you think the likely consequences are?

maybe, but might be more to do with the run up to christmas and people getting busy with Christmas shopping?

eta - if it's down all over europe, then that's not your run-of-the-mill crash.

Either that or Matt Cardle is more popular than we thought!

I've tried Amazon tonight and can't load. Quite possibly something to do with the wikileaks. They were targetting companies that were refusing their advertising. Amazon pulled out on them.

  • Wikileaks is not affiliated with 4chan, whatever the latter would like to think.

Consequences will be: Less people bought terrible books for Xmas that they'll never read.

Sounds like a win to me.

I can see how tempting it would be if I had a LOIC
  • Its working now
  • I used some nectar points to buy a gift certificate to use on Amazon.
I did have one click amazon which shows delivery addresses and last 4 digits of credit card.
I then received 3 auto order confirmation emails for 3 i-phones that I did not order but the hacker had left full name delivery address and phone number. I do not share passwords I am only one to use computer and so I cancelled everything and stopped credit card. I contacted Amazon in the Philippines and their response email blamed me and they claimed that they had stopped the fraudulent attempt to steal using my credit card details. I phoned police with the hackers delivery address, gave them the details, and I never heard from them again.
The advice I received was to delete credit card details and delivery addresses in the Amazon account - too much information just sitting there between orders. I cancelled the whole account and never use amazon again
