I'm looking for a portable solution for the sole purpose of using as my PC for when I'm doing engine diagnostics.

I've thought about netbooks since they're capable of running simple tasks however I still regard them as underpowered pieces of poo. On the other hand there are tablet PC's but I've never used them and don't know about their capabilities

Can anyone offer any suggestions for a high powered portable netbook/midrange laptop for ~ £400 or less or an alternative tablet PC

I'm not overly concerned about operating system but I'd prefer something Windows based as I don't believe my software supports Linux based O/S

Thankooos

EDIT :
At the moment I'm considering this, looks cool as hell. Ultra portable and still uses netbook internals albeit an SSD hard drive

A tablet PC is a pile of poo of similar computing power as a netbook but even more limited. £400 gets you a bombproof nearly new Thinkpad X61s with a proper Core2Duo CPU and long battery life.

I want Ultra Portable, I don't want a laptop unless it can fit inside the glovebox of a car. I hate clumpy bags plus I want portable for carrying around

I think Toshiba made a lightweight one, was it the portege?
