Can I be cheeky and ask for a refund??

Hi all,
A couple of weeks ago I purchased a router (wood cutting machine and not a computer network device
) from B&Q, on looking online i found the same model on Amazon for £24 less than I paid  I know, I should have checked first but this was a bit of an impulse buy.
Can I be cheeky and take it back for a refund or am I pushing my luck? The equipment has never been used only opened and the contents checked. B&Q have a 45 day return policy which doesn't say I cant take it back but neither does it say I can, it just says you can return goods within 45 days for cash or at their discretion a credit note.

Not used...I'd take it back. A credit note should be OK if you shop there regularly enough.:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

Further on in that very same sentence you say "you can return goods within 45 days for cash or at their discretion a credit note".
Surely that says you can.
So, what was your question again?0 -
I suppose I am looking for support for what I am proposing, I just haven't plucked up enough courage to actually go and ask for the refund, and yes I am spending money there atm, I am re-fitting my kitchen.
Looks like a trip back next Saturday armed with router and receipt and a big bag of courage (send the wife)
