Software for Students or Ebay?

Hi everyone
My mum wants to buy Adobe Photoshop - I can get it for £163 from Software for Students (which is a company I trust) or, less than £100 on Ebay.
The stuff on Ebay looks genuine but I don't want to end up buying something my mum can't legally have on her laptop.
Any advice please?
Many thanks
Terri

before you part with any money tell her to try out GIMP it is a free open source photoshop, if it isn't what she wants then she hasn't lost any money testing it, if it does everything she wants (which I am 99% sure it will be able to) then you have saved yourself £163.0

Likewise why Photoshop
Photoshop essentials is near the same job but significantly less.
Full blown photoshop is a hard tool if your mum has no experience .
Also if Ebay check what version/year .Current CS5 .
If the Ebay version is dodgy it will fail to activate on set up complaint to EBay gets your money back .

Why Photoshop - well, my mum is into her photography big time and it's what she wants. I'm pretty sure she has used it at college or something. Also, my mum isn't the sort of person you try to talk out of something when she's made up her mind lol

Thanks - appreciated. I know my mum pretty well and it has to be Photoshop, however, I will now get GIMP for my son.
Thanks again :beer:0 -
I don't want to be a killjoy, but I hope you've read all the T&Cs for CS5, because it's a bit extra to that which is usually required for their MS products. Please read the following important notice.
Boxed product will be sent to your shipping address.
Only students, teachers, school staff, and other educators who meet Adobe eligibility can purchase Adobe products.
Product does not contain the serial number required for installation. To receive the serial number, students must return the provided validation form and provide a valid student or teacher ID to Adobe. For further information please read the Adobe FAQ.
If you purchase an Adobe product and do not meet the eligibilty criteria, you will not pass the validation process and will be unable to return the product for a refund. Unfortunately, there are no exceptions to this policy.Move along, nothing to see.0 -
Thanks - yes have read the small print etc.0

There are of course, plenty of genuine and honest sellers on ebay too.
The bottom line is if you get an illegal copy you should be able to raise a dispute and get the money back; you might be out on the cost of postage though.0 -
I got my son to get me a copy of CS5 for MAC via software for students, fantastic product especially if she is in to her photography, see you tube for the "content aware feature"0
