It's not so much a stupid question, but why don't you wait until they float?
When they do, you should be able to buy shares, but it's better to spell their name right "Flybe".0 -
dunno about the question but love the signature

and where to buy them?
Motley Fool isn't accepting online trading yet but they will let you buy over the phone. The code is FLYB.

Airlines, almost without exception, turn out to be disappointing (or sometimes disastrous) long term investments. Also, companies perform IPOs when the timing looks good to them (when they can get the listing away at a high price so as to raise as much money as possible), NOT when the timing is good from a potential investor's perspective.
If you're new to the stockmarket, there's likely to be better ways of beginning your investing experience than to buy into an IPO in a risky market sector.
The worst thing that could happen would be for you to buy in, see the shares rise sharply, and then cash in quickly. You'd go away with a highly skewed experience of what stock market investment is about, and the risks and rewards, and paradoxically that initial good experience could eventually prove to be a very costly one.0 -
Heard that the pilots were considering strike action over pay. Not a good sign ahead of a flotation.0

Thank you very much for the advice rdtrdt,Thrugelmir & MarkFromMullion, I really appreciate your advice, I now realise that it would be more than a tad foolish to wade in there! When man sacrifices the Love of POWER for the Power of Love, there will be peace on earth.0

Airlines have been a dog of a sector for quite a few years.0

Avoid like the plague. Airline shares are serial disappointers. Look at something like AZEM instead if you want a recent float.0

My gut instinct tells me this is not a good investment...
Volcanic ash
potential disasters
poor global economy
striking pilots and staff
Terrorism issues
I will not be investing or trading in that area as I think there are better bets out there.
Unless of course anyone wants to invest a few kazillions in William James Coppin Airways when I start trading of course in which case ignore the above advice! :-)
