Hi all

For some reason my email client(thunderbird)wont open a new window when i click on a link in any mail all of a sudden.

Ive done a few tweaks to firefox 2,but cant remember the site i got the info from, could this be the cause ?

The tweaking may well be the cause. personally I'd reboot windows and if that doesn't cure it, I'd uninstall thunderbird, reboot the system and then reinstall. You could spend ages puzzling it out when a fresh install would be the quicker answer.

It's difficult not knowing exactly what tweaks you did. I haven't used Thunderbird for ages and all I can think is that you could try a new profile, it is normally stored in application data. You'll need to go into tools/folder options/view/show hidden files. You can do that in My documents.
Are you sure the problem isn't just with your ISP mail server?
Something else I'd try is using Outlook Express (sending a test email to myslf) to see if that lets you send and receive mail. If it does, it would suggest the problem is in Thunderbird and not a tweak in Windows as the cause of your problems.

Just re-read your post and it is unlikely to be your ISP if the problem is you can't open a link. You are getting your mail, so it has to be something in Thunderbird and not your ISP.

I only did a couple of tweaks, which i have reset.

thinking back i noticed this a few days ago before i got firefox 2,but i thought at the time it was just 1 dodgy email off a friend,so its probably not related .

thanks for the help anyway ,ill just have a play around with it-i can always cut and paste links.
