EDF broke into my home and fitted a payment meter

Well they best pay it if they want the credit meter back as soon as possible. It's not as if EDF or any other supplier will wait for much more than 6 months after a bill is late before swapping out the meter. As the last 6 months were summer I imagine the bill won't be that large.Happy M
I would imagine the op got in this mess because they couldn't pay their bill so I don't suppose they can afford to clear the debt. As I don't know what the standard recovery rate EDF set on warrant exchanges I would suggest Sharquois contacts them to make sure the amount is affordable.
I get quarterly bills as well. Think about them for a bit then sort out a payment. I just wish Npower would hurry up and generate one soon for me. I provided them with their precious meter readings on the 28th Nov, the bill was supposed to be generated on the 6th Dec and I still don't have a bill. Very annoying. Hurry up...:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

after they have gained entry by whatever means, do they have to make safe the door??? or would any further loss suffered by the OP be down to him? i.e not our fault the whole of your contents dissappeared cos we left the door open.0

Of course they will not leave the premises insecure.
All costs will be added to the customers account."Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -
On the whole they use locksmiths to open there doors for them without damage.so no mess to tidy up and the doors have to be left as you found them.

prepayment tariffs are equivalent to credit meter tariffs on non dd so the difference is not as great as it used to be.grahamc2003 wrote: »He probably got a prepayemnt meter because he has debts with EDF. He won't be able to switch until he clears those debts. Pre-payment meter rates are the highest around, so best avoided at all costs.
The op is a bit of a pleb because there is no way they would not know this was to happen0 -
And he still hasn't been back!!0

Would you come back? It'd be like walking in a room full of people with bottles just ready to hit you with them.0
