ive just tried to do a windows xp repair as advised on a previous post(move folders on desktop).
all went ok untill it rebooted then i got this message.....
system setup log-(c:\windows\set uperr.log)
fatal error:
one of the windows needs to continue setup could not be installed, the operation was cancelled by the user.
any help would be great.

Does it have a factory restore partition, do you need any data, what's the history?!!

Wash the cd in warm soapy water and dry with soft cloth is always my first step .

got it fixed now.

my ESC button was jammed in,i think thats what was causing all the problems,
