Hi, this is the Daily Thread for xx (add date). This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Good morning my lovelies
DD's temp finally gone down and she had a better night's sleep although waking at 5.30am is FAR too early  DS was complaining of earache and he's full of snotso I am hoping and praying he doesn't end up with an ear infection.
I feel a wee bit better, chest is a bit sore and am snotty but had unbroken sleep which is the main thing.
Plans for today are H has relatives coming over for Xmas pressie swap. I might miss it as I have a table top sale today for my Xmas craft things.
Tea tonight will be something quick depending on whether I can be bothered to cook
Probably chicken and veg etc.

Bit of festive music to get you all going this morning.
Hugs, spoons and high fives all round. Hope anyone who's poorly is feeling better today x Have a good day OS or not.

Glad you're feeling better Bitsy, good luck with your craft sales
Not got much to say because I can't actually do anythingThe walls have been rendered, they're being plastered today. Tonight we can put the sink back in (washing up in the bathroom is a pain) and wire the oven back in - real food again, wooohooo

Morning Bitsy, Tru and all who follow
Lovely morning herejust hoping it's not too cold out!
Today I am going to brave shopping in town for an hour or so, then meet the girls for lunch, then pop to my nan's as it was her birthday Fri, and then meet another friend for coffee this afternoon! Phew! I don't have many presents to get in town, but these ones can only be bought there so it's gotta be done.
After that I plan on making the lists I didn't make yesterdayand just chilling out with Strictly/X Factor tonight. I thought X Factor was pretty lacklustre last night considering it was the final.
OS wise - mmmm not much, towels with go in WM. DW may go on overnight if it is full. I made quite a bit of food yesterday so have leftovers to eat tonight and for lunch tomorrow.
Have a great day all

Bitsy - glad you're on the mend! Tru - you're so brave having this done so close to Christmas - don't know if I'd be brave enough!
Woken up this morning by the sound of my boys screaming in play to each other. Have 3 loads of bedding to wash due to wet beds, Spent yesterday at MILS - ended up shopping in Tescos - her choice and spent 3 hours in the clothing department - and she spent almost £300 - but she got 95% of what she wanted to - now she just needs to wrap. Not very OS - but have decided that I'll phone her today and tell her that all I want is to search through her HUGE stack of knitting needles and choose accordingly - that will be Christmas present enough for me.
Not that I knit very much - but I have started (only the knit stitch though!) and I have plans.... OS wise - I got some meatballs out of the freezer when we got home last night, so we'll be having them today - either as meatballs or maybe as tiny burgers. Have to see how busy I get. Loads of things to do - and need to get on. Love to all xxxMe, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx
March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.0 -
Good Morning,
Sorry not to have posted for a while. Im gutted that I missed NPM wedding celebrations so am sending belated good wishes for a lovely life with your DH and DS xxx
Also hope those who have this horrid cold/ virus feel better soon. I have three sons who are currently suffering in a very manly fashion (not):eek::eek:
Life has been really busy for me this past week. I have almost finished christmas shopping which is a bit of a feat in itself. Im fed up of looking at people's crotches and smiling sweetly at people as they bash me with their handbags. The worst thing was that DD and my scooter got crushed by a car on Wednesday in MK. He was backing out of his space and didnt see her or the scooter:eek::eek::eek:. Luckily he didnt damage DD but he did crunch my machine . No apology just a load of the verbals from him and tears from DD as she was understandably very shocked. A very kind passer-by witnessed it all and fought our corner for us and is a witness. Kids dad is now dealing with it in a very business like manner and will stand no nonsense. If i had done that I would be utterly mortified and it could have been so much worse like a pram with a baby in it :eek:
Sorry there are lots of:eek::eek::eek: in my post today x
Ok OS. Well I plan to make some soup and stirfry today. I have the kids to do some housework as my dear cleaner is off on Monday. Im going to see my parents laterI have a card to give them and some hyacinth bulbs. Kids dad taking me and will mediate when it all gets too much. They take OS to the extreme and then moan about it.
My friend Mooloo got the keys to her new house and it's wonderfully warm and cosy. She is a two minute drive-away now which is great. I shall be looking forward to more cuppas with her.
Hope you have a lovely day xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.

I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.

Morning all
Cold & bright here today.
Despite not getting in til midnight, I was up bright & early & by 7:15 the DW WM & TD were all chugging away & the chicken was cooking. We won't eat til sometime between 2 & 4, but I'm cooking the chicken early so I can strip it & make most of the meals for next week with it.
I met the foster children last night, all very cute, so desperate for attention & security it's heart breaking. They are all so terrified of loud voices that DD & her husband have taken to singing instructions to each other. The sound of her sing very loudly 'Can you bring a nappy down for me please' & he responding with 'Yes love, which size do you want' to the tune of 'Deck the Halls' is absolutely hysterical. Even their dogs are getting away with murder, because she can't shout 'out' at them as the children all start to cry.
Keep safe & warm everyone.
Hugs Hester

Mornign all:D
I did a little post on Fri night but dont think anyone saw it;)
Thank you all so much for the well wishes, drinks, toasts and lighting of candles it was so touching that you all took part in your own little way:A
i am going to print them all off and keep them with my wedding cards:D
We had a fab day:j. The ceremony was beautiful and the registrar really took on board the fact that we wanted it to be a celebration of us coming together as a family. I managed to do it without crying...just:o.
Poor DH cracked and started crying as he said this vow to DS " I promise to be a patient loving father to you. Caring for you and providing for you as my own. I promise to be your strength and your emotional support, loving you with all my heart always." The whole room was crying at this point:o:p
afterwards was quite hectic as we took turns chasing DS around hotel and sitting in foyer with him, didnt get to eat any of the lovely food or be in disco much but never mind. The important bit was wonderful.
DS slept in big bed with DH and I spent honeymoon night on Zbed.
We are going away in Jan for a weekend so that will be our honeymoon:T.
I will put photos on as soon as I get them. I only have a couple of little videos but cant post them on here.
Hope you are all well.
Molly poor you thats awful! Hope kids dad sorts it.

Morning all
Hope all poorlies are improving.
Up early this morning (about 5.45) which is amazing after being out last night on my works christmas do! Consumed rather alot of wine but surprisingly feel fine other than a sore throat from singing christmas songs at the top of my voice (not on my own you understand!) Was a good evening.
Today I have several bags of presents to deliver to people who we will not be able to see nearer the big day. I finished my last present scarf off last night before I went out and finally am going to make myself one today. I have really enjoyed knitting those (can can wool) so thanks to OP who posted about it - sorry I can't remember who it was now, brain must be addled after the celebrations last night!
Wm on again, sc on with gammon in for lunch/tea whenever we get round to eating. Potatoes and veg ready in pans and steamer, so quite organised. Right off for another coffee then get my self going again.
Have a good day all

Morning all,
Had a nice lay in again this morning :j, dd is still in bed, will get her up after this.
Our bedding is in the wash, and will get dd to strip hers once she is up, will put both on the line today its nice and blowy out there, got 4 loads almost dry yesterday which is great.
Bought tiles for the loo window cill yesterday, they are pink glass mosaic ones, I laid them yesterday :T first time I have tiled, they look great, just need to grout them today, I have a couple of bits of paintwork that need rubbing down and re painting, before christmas, so will try to do that today or tomorrow.
OH also fixed the oven, I have an aga type, and only the small oven worked, we were quoted £120 to get it fixed, so we ordered the part online and OH managed to fit it for about half price :T, very clever man, so I have both ovens working for Xmas.
Need to get wrapping paper today, and might get started on the wrapping, I really dont enjoy doing it, might get OH and dd involved tonight, they both have a lot more patience than I do.
Dinner tonight will be beef bourguignon, which I will put in the sc in a while, might do some jackets with it, dd has a pasta bake from the freezer, which I am desperatly trying to empty, I have also taken a crumble out, which we will have for pud with ice cream.
Molly, I am so glad your dd was ok xx
Hugs to all the snotty ones
Have fun all xx0
