Britannia easy saver

I opened a Britannia easy saver last year as recommended by the website.

I remember it saying that once opened and continued to put a min. of £20/month you would recieve a £10 co-op voucher in dec 2010.

Mine is going to mature in a couple of days, have had nothing in the post from Britannia. So I was just wondering if it was a marketing ploy to get people to open the account or if I imagined it.

It does not mature after one year, but continues at 2% if the monthly payments are still made. You need to request to close your account if you don't want it to continue. Your £10 voucher should be sent by 14 December.
  • No sign of any voucher through my letterbox either, although I had problems with a bank not setting up the monthly direct debit which Britannia could use as an excuse not to send the voucher.
  • I called them last week, they told me, the voucher is on the way being sent out to the customers. Not have one myself yet.

Co-operative dividend replaced the Britannia scheme. If you did not respond to the mailing when the merger occurred you may need to sort out your Co-operative membership. Start here:

There are delays in the postal system due to very poor weather.
I don't think you can expect mail to arrive exactly on time when parts of the country have been at a standstill.
Even in places where it's cleared up, there will still be a backlog.
  • Thanks lisyloo - I understand your point (during the snow period even in London I only saw 1 delivery out of 6 due in the week - and saw nothing like the snow and ice other parts of the country are still suffering). I was merely seeking to indicate to the OP that they were not alone in not receiving a voucher to dispel the conspiracy theory ;)

Hopefully the fact that no-one has indicated that they have received one yet indicates that they are indeed delayed due to the weather and postal backlog!
