New laptop needed

My current laptop was bought for my daughter from Dell 3-4 years ago and it is time I upgraded. I have a budget of up to £450.

What processor should I be looking for as there seems to be hundreds out there compared too when I bought this one.

We have 3 Dell laptops in our house and they have all been good at what we wanted them to do, so don't mind sticking with them.

    Why? .
    Because I do.

Does there have to be a reason in life for everything?
If I had asked should I change it or would you, then I could and would have expected those sort of replies.

    Thanks for all the help.

Knowing SDF, he's probably smashed it up in a fit at some muppet on MSE. :p:D

For £450 you should be able to get something with a i3 processor or sometimes an i5.

But why not wait until the New Year sales? (which may have started already I know).

Get the best CPU you can buy. Don't be fooled by extra RAM - you probably don't need it
