  • If you haven't lost any electrical equipment through a surge then lucky you. I lost a router through a surge in the phone line which also blew the PSU on my PC. At anting less than £20 there are worth it IMHO

Surge protecters are a piece of crap....how many people do you know or even have found on the net to have suffered with power surges, that have blown there Tvs and equipment up? NONE

Comet sold my aunty a surge protector for 90 quid, they took advantage of an old lady..........they do sod all.

    Dont waste your money.

I've had to claim on house insurance twice after the electric tripped and blew my pc:(

Did post the other day that Maplin had 2 4 plug surge sockets for £10 something.
  • A power surge on my telephone line blow up my digital answer machine and I know of a couple of people who have found items blown apart on the floor from power surges.

My 1st PC smoked due to a power surge. Ever since then, Ive had a power surge one
£90 is way too much, was it gold plated or what? Should of taken it back

By the way, went to the Maplins store and picked one up yesterday, half price, 10 way power surged proteced, got it for a tenner, not bad

    Shopping Tips
Don't spend five pounds to dry clean a shirt. Donate it to the charity shop instead. They'll clean it and put it on a hanger. Next morning buy it back for two pounds.

Actually i know a lad whos PC PSU used to blow up every 3 month or so due to surges.

Theyre handy for surge protection in normal conditions, but they wont protect you against lightning surges.

I got a 6 gang 2m extension with surge protection for £5 at Wilkinsons today, does that qualify as better value than the OP as there's no p&p ????
